Severe thunderstorm alert issued for parts of central Alberta

Central Alberta residents may be in store for large hail, damaging winds and torrential rainfall after Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm alert on Wednesday. 
Conditions are favourable for dangerous thunderstorms including heavy hail and rain, said the agency on its website. 
The severe weather watches for west-central Alberta include Hinton, Grande Cache, Rocky Mountain House, Caroline, Whitecourt, Edson, Fox Creek and Swan Hills. 
Wind gusts could reach up to 100 km
