Semi driver escapes injury after straw bale slams into windshield

The driver of a semi truck walked away unscathed after a straw bale flew off a trailer and slammed through his windshield.
The collision happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday along Highway 21 south of New Sarepta, a rural hamlet outside Camrose.
An RCMP news release said the bale fell off the back of a southbound flatbed truck and hit the northbound semi.
The bale caved-in the truck’s windshield, blinding the driver.
The collision happened five km south of New Sarepta on Nov. 10, 2018.
