Saturday's letters: Double standard in bird deaths

So Syncrude just got fined $2.75 million because 31 blue herons died on its site (almost $89,000 per bird).
When will we see wind-energy facilities fined for the countless birds and bats that they slaughter every day with their windmills? Or will they continue to get a free pass because they are “green” energy?
