Relationship between grizzly bears and railways 'complicated': U of A researcher

Most grizzly bears are avoiding railways in Canada’s national parks despite the lure of spilled grain, says a University of Alberta study. But with a few bold bears risking death to forage, researchers are investigating why some grizzlies end up on the wrong side of the tracks.  
“I wasn’t expecting there to be so few bears that seem to specialize on the rails,” biological sciences professor Colleen Cassady St. Clair said this week.
