Red Deer bus driver who slammed into tree charged with drunk driving

A 42-year-old Red Deer woman who drove a busload of elementary school kids into a tree has been charged with driving while impaired. 
The collision happened just before 4 p.m. Monday in Red Deer’s Vanier Woods neighbourhood. A witness called 911 after seeing the bus careen into a tree and a sign and drive a short distance before coming to a stop.
