Public school earmarks 'found money' to help pay for school replacement

In an attempt speed up approval for provincial construction funds, the Edmonton public school board has stashed away $15 million toward a replacement or a major upgrade at an aging school.
Made possible by serendipitously found money, executive director of infrastructure Lorne Parker hopes it will encourage the province to grant the rest of the funds needed to consolidate four schools in the Westlawn area.
