Provincial emergency alert notification system gets fresh cash
The province will spend up to $200,000 over the next three years to maintain its emergency alert phone application used to disseminate information about weather events, wildfires and amber alerts.
With the current contract set to expire early next year, the government is looking for a new company to take over the front and back end of the technology.
Launched in 2014, the Alberta Emergency Alert app is now used by more than 250,000 Albertans.
