Private member's bill aims to protect volunteer firefighter jobs

A private member’s bill aims to prevent volunteer firefighters from losing their regular jobs when they take time off to respond to emergencies. 
“Currently employers can … terminate firefighters for missing work while fulfilling duties as a firefighter,” said United Conservative Party MLA Wayne Anderson, who introduced Bill 201 in March.
