Power restored after underground vault explosion in Edmonton, review ongoing
Power was fully restored Thursday morning after an underground explosion rocked parts of downtown Edmonton Wednesday.
The blast in an underground electrical vault happened around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. It blew a 100-kilogram manhole near 97 Avenue and 106 Street through the air, smashing it to pieces. A woman had to be rescued after falling into the hole, suffering what appeared to be a fractured ankle.
