Police investigating weapons complaint; motorists asked to avoid the area between Gateway Boulevard and the Whitemud Drive

A man was taken to hospital after being shot and police are negotiating with a suspect at 38 Avenue and Gateway Boulevard.
As of 7:11 p.m., police are asking motorists to avoid the area between Gateway Boulevard and Whitemud Drive.
Southwest Division patrol officers were called out around 2:20 p.m. for a weapons complaint where the found a male with a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a news release.
