Opinion: Alberta needs enforceable guarantees, not empty promises, on Meta data centre

Alberta has landed one of Canada’s largest technology investments, but the real test begins after the announcement. Meta plans to invest more than $13 billion in a one-gigawatt artificial-intelligence data centre in Sturgeon County, north of Edmonton. The project promises thousands of construction jobs, hundreds of permanent positions and substantial tax and royalty revenue. Those benefits deserve attention.
