Ottawa has called off the a $66-million proposal for a biking and walking trail through Jasper National Park.
The decision was made after discussions with stakeholder groups, Indigenous partners and members of the public, said a federal government news release Wednesday.
“Parks Canada will be withdrawing from the Icefields Trail project and the funds originally earmarked for the project will be re-allocated to support priorities within the agency,” said the release.
