'Non-event': Edmonton issues just three tickets for smoking cannabis since legalization

City bylaw officers have issued a total of three tickets to people using cannabis since the drug was legalized last October.
The latest statistics from the city show that far more people have been written up for smoking tobacco than cannabis.
There were 73 tickets and 653 warnings issued to people using tobacco in violation of the public smoking bylaw in Churchill Square or on Edmonton Transit Service properties, city spokeswoman Carla Putnam Kerr said in an email Thursday.
