No charges for city police officer who punched intoxicated 65-year-old man: ASIRT

An Edmonton police officer will not face criminal charges following an investigation after he punched a 65-year-old man in the face, knocking him unconscious and resulting in a broken jaw.
The Alberta Crown Prosecutors Service determined, based on evidence provided by ASIRT, that the matter didn’t meet the standards for prosecution, said ASIRT in a news release Monday afternoon.
