Nick Lees: Sculpture honours Alberta kidney transplant pioneer

Local sculptor Ryan Kurylo is being called a “superhero” by the Kidney Foundation of Canada for his enthusiasm and work in helping celebrate 50 years of transplant history in Alberta.
Kurylo’s sculpture of local transplant pioneer Dr. William Lakey was unveiled before some 450 organ donors, their families, nurses and doctors at the Create the Change Masterpiece Gala Saturday night at the Radisson Hotel South.
