Judging by the bidding for trips abroad with Canadian athletes and musicians, the annual Gold Medal Plates (GMP) Dinner and Culinary Championships were a lip-smacking success last week.
Figures were still being tallied this weekend, but organizers said Edmonton once again had set its usual blistering pace in fundraising for Olympic athletes during the event at the Shaw Conference Centre.
