New cost-sharing pitch aims to open up Edmonton's industrial land

City councillors endorsed a new way of funding industrial growth Tuesday, one intended to make the city more competitive in the region. 
“The city has been under-performing for the last numbers of years,” said Steve Jensen, the city’s development engineer, pitching a plan Tuesday that will give developers predictability without the city committing upfront costs.
The first developer to work on undeveloped land will still be responsible for building main roads and sewer line
