Mounties search for suspect in Jasper after girl reports an attempted abduction

Jasper RCMP were searching for a man after a girl reported an abduction attempt while she was on her way to school Tuesday. 
Around 7:30 a.m., the student was approached by a man driving a van near Patricia Street and Willow Avenue in Jasper. 
The man asked for directions to a local restaurant and offered to drive the girl to school, said a police news release. 
When she declined, he reached for her through the passenger window while she backed away, police said.
