Mother nature provides fireworks on Canada Day; tornado touches down near Sangudo
Lightning struck Alberta’s capital region on Saturday and a tornado toucheddown near Sangudo.
Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings were issued by Environment Canada for much of the province.
Andy Yun, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said lightning strikes are the most deadly weather phenomenon in Canada, killing on average 10 people per year and injuring 100 to 150.
