Man charged with random assault of senior has previous assault charges

A man who has been charged with assault after a senior was randomly attacked and left fighting for his life has had previous assault charges, according to court records.
On Feb. 27, police responded to a call at around 3:30 p.m. near 48 Street and 22 Avenue in the neighbourhood of Pollard Meadows.
There, they found a 65-year-old man on the ground in medical distress. He was treated and transported to hospital in life-threatening condition. Police said the man was “viciously and randomly&rd
