LRT train goes down wrong track near NAIT station

The Metro LRT line’s beleaguered signal system is to blame for two Saturday mishaps on the rail line, a city spokeswoman said.
At 6:30 a.m. Saturday, the system directed a southbound train onto the northbound track near NAIT station, Katherine Sweet said Sunday morning. For a short time a northbound and a southbound train approached each other on the same track.
“Fortunately, the failsafe mechanisms kicked in, and there was absolutely no compromise to safety at all,” Sweet said
