Longtime MLA Brian Mason farewells party faithful at NDP convention

Longtime Edmonton NDP MLA Brian Mason was a little emotional Saturday afternoon.
He had just been honoured at his party’s convention, a tribute after announcing he won’t seek re-election in 2019.
Around 1,200 Alberta New Democrats descended on Edmonton’s Westin Hotel for the first full day of convention, grinding through caucus reports and a handful of resolutions before Mason’s farewell just after noon.
Mason was first elected to Edmonton-Highlands-Norwood in 2000,
