Lieutenant Governor presents Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers

While Lezley Zwaal was honoured to receive a Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers from Lt.-Gov. Lois Mitchell at a ceremony Tuesday, she was brought to tears thinking of the impact her work has had on veterans.
“We know it helps; we know it makes a difference for those who have served,” Zwaal said at Goverment House.
Zwaal said she gave her first quilts to three Canadian soldiers injured in Afghanistan in 2006.
Since then, Quilts of Valour has expanded across Canada, with dedicated
