With the windchill hovering around -20 C Saturday afternoon, mitts were the most in-demand item for Boyle Street clients as volunteers handed out toasty clothing and hygiene products.
Toques and scarves, hot-pockets and deodorant, feminine hygiene products and toothpaste filled bulging clear garbage bags, carted to the downtown drop-in centre as part of a national movement to bring relief from the cold.
