Helium balloon strikes power lines, knocking out some traffic lights

City police are warning motorists to take care after a helium balloon hit some power lines Wednesday morning, knocking out some central Edmonton traffic lights.
The balloon strike knocked out power between 103 Street and 119 Street and 105 Avenue and 111 Avenue.
Police are directing traffic at several of the affected intersections.
The outage is expected to take several hours to rectify and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
