Harper looks to the future in beyond category sound

If there’s a trait that separates good musicians from real artists, it might be that the latter are always looking forward to their next project, never content to rest on past success, even if that striving brings an occasional failed experiment. It’s also one of the few descriptions that fits California singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ben Harper, now 47.
It was probably inevitable that Harper would make a career in music, growing up in southern California around his mate
