Growing Things: How to manage thirsty birches

Q: Our 10-year-old birch's top branches died this spring despite frequent watering and TLC. It is in a fairly dry location.  I have fertilized it and now am deep-root watering it.  Will new growth come if we trim the dead branches down to where leaves start to grow? Read More
