Friday's letters: Why is Mayfair club lease an issue?

The new community group Friends of the Park is sticking its nose in something that is a non-issue.
The Royal Mayfair Golf Club’s existence dates back to 1922 and from my knowledge of the city’s history, it means that the club predates the existence of the entire river valley parks system.
The club pays its property taxes and is generally seen as a good community steward. The club is renegotiating its lease with the city; why is it an issue now when it hasn’t been previously? It
