Friday's letters: Footbridge lacks proper access

Few projects better exemplify the ineptitude of our city administration than the Fort Edmonton footbridge.
The city spent almost $30 million building this admittedly beautiful showcase of a bridge. But the city neglected to provide any safe means of accessing the bridge from the neighbourhoods on the Riverbend side. Currently, pedestrians trying to access the bridge must walk down Whitemud Road — a narrow, winding road with no sidewalk and limited sight lines due to dense brush.
