Free outdoor pools make a splash, city recommends it be permanent

The City of Edmonton is diving into a debate about making outdoor pools free after the splash free access made for Canada 150 celebrations.
After attendance more than doubled in 2017 compared to 2016 with free admission to outdoor pools, the community and public services committee is scheduled to receive a report on Feb. 21 that recommends extending free admission to outdoor pools for the summer of 2018.
