Former manager charged with stealing, defrauding $2 million from Whitecourt company

A former employee and shareholder has been accused of misappropriating more than $2 million from a Whitecourt oilfield company over a period of 11 years.
RCMP recently charged the 48-year-old man after the business, Selectest Inc., noticed “suspicious” financial activity in March 2017 and reported its findings to police.
The investigation examined records dating back to 2006, RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.
