Eskimos release 11-year CFL receiver Chris Getzlaf

The Edmonton Eskimos released veteran Canadian slotback Chris Getzlaf on Tuesday.
In his 11th CFL season, the 34-year-old Regina product had been used sparingly — he’s recorded five catches for 43 yards in 2017 — but that didn’t stop him from scoring a game-winning touchdown on the road against the defending Grey Cup champion Ottawa Redblacks on Aug. 10 to help the Eskimos to a 7-0 start to the season.
