Elise Stolte: Council faces tough vote on strange downtown park expropriation
The downtown park proposal heading to city council Friday is a bit of a head scratcher.
Council wants to make a big move to support high-density residential living downtown. So with money from the downtown arena funding scheme, officials are planning to turn existing gravel parking lots into a 1.25-hectare neighbourhood park north of Jasper Avenue, on both sides of 107 Street.
