Edmonton's 9 p.m. fireworks: Brilliant or sad?

Edmonton officially rang in the new year at the early hour of 9 p.m. last night with a 12-minute firework display on the Alberta legislative grounds.
But opinions are mixed on whether that makes this young city great for families or ultra lame. Many watched Calgary’s display instead to ring in the New Year.
