Edmonton police shooting probed; man, 37, listed in serious condition

A 37-year-old man is in serious condition in hospital after being shot by police Friday during a west-end standoff following a break-and-enter.
The shooting is under investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT).
Edmonton police responded to a break-and-enter near 171 Street and 83 Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Friday where a man had barricaded himself in the home, according to a news release.
Police evacuated nearby homes and secured the house with the help of the tactical secti
