Edmonton looks at backing bid to host 2022 Juno Awards

Landing the Juno Awards could net about $3.5 million in revenue for the local economy, city administration estimates.
As part of its 2019-2022 budget deliberations, city council will debate contributing $550,000 in city funds to support a bid to bring the Canadian music awards show to Edmonton in 2022.
Administration put the request on an “unfunded” list, but Ward 6 Coun. Scott McKeen said he’ll throw his support behind green-lighting the funding to host the event downtown.
