Edmonton Catholic inks new deal with custodial and maintenance workers

Custodial, maintenance and other support workers at Edmonton Catholic schools will receive two consecutive one per cent raises in a new agreement approved by the school board Tuesday.
The four-year agreement, which runs from Sept. 1, 2016, to Aug. 31, 2020, took 2 1/2 years to reach and relied on the help of a mediator. The first one per cent raise took effect Jan. 1, and the second one will start Sept. 1, 2019. The deal contains no retroactive wage increases.
