Driver ejected from vehicle and killed after nearly striking RCMP cruiser near Sylvan Lake

A man who narrowly avoided striking an RCMP cruiser is dead after his truck struck a power pole outside Sylvan Lake early Saturday morning.
An RCMP officer was patrolling in the Sylvan Lake area at about 4:30 a.m., trying to locate a vehicle that had been involved in a crime in Red Deer.
While driving on Highway 11a, the officer passed a westbound F-350 truck that was driving without headlights and swerving over the centre line.
A Saturday news release said the officer narrowly avoided being str
