Doctor suspended six months, must pay $28,000 for inappropriately touching student

A Westlock doctor has lost his licence for six months after admitting to professional misconduct for inappropriately touching a medical student and inviting her to sleep in his bed.
Dr. Subrata Chakravarty, an anesthesiologist who had been working in both Westlock and at the Sturgeon Hospital in St. Albert, must also pay $28,097 to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta for investigation costs and an evaluation of his suitability for work.
