David Staples: West Edmonton wants mass transit, but maybe not LRT

I never expected Edmontonians to turn against LRT expansion, but that’s what is starting to happen. 
Candidates across the city in the Oct. 16 civic election say they’re hearing major concerns about the high cost of LRT construction and about the delays LRT causes when it jams up traffic. The trains often block intersections for lengthy intervals on the NAIT and south-side lines.
