David Staples: Council gets it right with Jasper Avenue, City Hall wading pool

City council is moving in the right direction on two controversial projects involving major Edmonton landmarks — Jasper Avenue and the City Hall wading pool. 
On Jasper — as part of infrastructure renewal on the street that is slated to start in 2019 — the essential change will be taking two bus lanes from the six- to seven-lane arterial road and converting them into more space for people and parking.
