Councillor backs off tweet against city funding for Pride parade

A defensive city councillor threatened to vote against funding for Edmonton’s Pride parade if it refused to allow him to march in military uniform next year.
Coun. Jon Dziadyk, a reservist, made the statement in on Twitter on Sunday, saying today’s military is “incredibly tolerant of LGBT people.”
He deleted the tweet a short time later.
He now says he wants to meet with Pride organizers to understand how military members may march in uniform but will not tie that discuss
