Concern grows over Darnell Nurse contract status as Oilers main training camp nears

All summer long the assumption has been that it’s a matter of time for the Edmonton Oilers to come to terms with Darnell Nurse on a contract extension.
The 23-year-old rearguard completed his Entry Level Contract this past season, and became a Restricted Free Agent on July 01. The player had no arbitration rights and seemed unlikely to be subject to an offer sheet, an option which has gone out of style for reasons discussed in this post I wrote on the player six weeks ago.
