City faces charges in deaths of three cats

Three feral cats destined to find a new home at a city waste management facility as mousers died earlier this year forcing the city to suspend its  pilot project designed to find homes for wayward felines.
Their deaths in May resulted in four city employees being charged by the Alberta SPCA with causing distress to animals under the Animal Protection Act, city spokesman David Aitken said Thursday.
The charges are non-criminal in nature.
