Charges laid against Lloydminster man in 'tragic crash'

A vehicle being stolen is not a serious enough offence on its own to warrant a potentially-dangerous high-speed police pursuit, an RCMP spokesman said five days after officers broke off the chase of a truck which minutes later was involved in a fatal collision near Lloydminster.
While the end result in this case was horribly tragic, RCMP Staff Sgt. Rob Embree said on Wednesday, a stolen vehicle “does not meet the threshold.”
