Central LRT station to stay open 24 hours as extreme cold snap continues

Edmonton’s Central LRT station will stay permanently open beginning Tuesday for people seeking shelter and warmth as an extreme cold warning remains in effect, city council heard Tuesday.
The decision to keep the underground station open 24-7 comes the day after Homeward Trust Edmonton said it didn’t have any plans to open additional overnight shelter space as the city’s cold spell continues through the week.
