Building bridges: NAIT hosts rope suspension competition

It’s been 33 years since Mason Libich’s dad traversed Whitemud Creek on ropes.
Like his father before him, Libich – a second-year construction engineering student at NAIT –teamed up with classmates on Saturday for the school’s annual rope suspension bridge competition.
Teams of between 10 and 15 people construct a bridge of two ropes, with the aid of sturdy tree trunks on either side of Whitemud Creek near its confluence with the North Saskatchewan River.
