Appeal filed by man convicted in estranged wife's murder

An Edmonton man serving a life sentence for killing his estranged wife is appealing both his sentence and conviction.
In January, a jury convicted Gilbert Paul Robinson of second-degree murder in Aileen (Gina) Robinson’s 2014 death. The couple was going through an acrimonious divorce when she was found seriously injured in the home where he lived. At trial, the prosecution brought evidence that she had been badly beaten with a two-by-four, sustaining serious head injuries. She died in
