Alberta Open Farm Days breaks visitor records

This summer’s annual Open Farm Days saw more people than ever head to farms, ranches and culinary events across rural Alberta. 
According to numbers released by the province Tuesday, 101 host farms and ranches had more than 20,000 visits over the Aug. 19 to 20 weekend, helping to boost on-farm sales to $146,121 over two days – an increase of nine per cent over the 2016 event.
Farm participation was up 10 per cent over 2016, and visitors increased by 13 per cent.
