Alberta health-care workers learn more about transgender patient care

Dr. Gail Knudson sees a blind spot in Canadian health care that needs illumination.
In their four years of medical school, the average North American med student is spending between one and three hours learning about LGBTQ health issues, said Knudson, a B.C. clinical psychiatrist and immediate past-president of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
Since 2013, the association has attempted to fill that knowledge void by running courses helping health-care providers a
